Cannon School’s athletics staff, led by our director of athletics and supported by associate athletic directors, coaches, and trainers, is dedicated to guiding student-athletes with vision, integrity, and care. Together, they foster an inclusive program that values growth, teamwork, and excellence, while building confidence, character, and school pride.

Chris Satterfield
  • Director of Athletics

Chris Satterfield serves as Cannon School’s Athletic Director, bringing more than 15 years of leadership experience, multiple NCADA and CMS Athletic Director Awards, and a track record of elevating programs and empowering student-athletes.

Kevin Steuer
  • Assistant Athletic Director

Kevin joined Cannon in 2022 and is an Associate Athletic Director. Prior to joining Cannon, he was the Athletic Director at The Williams School in Connecticut for four years. Before Williams, he was the Assistant Athletic Director at Thayer Academy, and Sports Information Director at Buckingham, Browne & Nichols.

Craig Reynolds
  • Assistant Athletic Director, SID

Craig, longtime Cannon parent and volunteer, is thrilled to capture the passion of our student-athletes by working closely with our coaches to promote our programs’ activities and accomplishments, oversee our Cannon Athletics social media platforms, and deliver high-quality and accessible media days during the year.

Holly Pente
  • Assistant Athletic Director

Before joining Cannon in 2024 as the Assistant Athletic Director, Holly worked for Novant Health and was the Head Athletic Trainer for Cannon from June 2013 through May 2024. She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Athletic Training/Trainer at East Carolina University.

Shawn Powell
  • Director of Strength & Conditioning

Shawn Powell was named as the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at Cannon School in May 2014.Coach Powell joined Cannon after spending five years as Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at Penske Racing and seven years as Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach with the Carolina Panthers.

Duncan Hundley
  • Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach

Originally from Knoxville, Tennessee, Duncan Hundley earned his bachelor's degree in physical education from Liberty University and a master's in athletic leadership from Clemson University. His passion for strength and conditioning began early in life, sparked by a strong personal drive to grow both physically and mentally. Today, Duncan is dedicated to inspiring young men and women to develop confidence and determination, empowering them to believe in their ability to achieve their goals.

Hayley Goldman
  • Certified Athletic Trainer

Hayley is a Certified Athletic Trainer with Novant Health and joins Cannon Athletics after previously working in the high school setting in Union County. Hayley earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training from UNC Charlotte.
